HISTORY
The
IBC was organized in the autumn of 1973 as a not-for-profit
corporation.
Our vision remains to preserve independent community banking. We
believe
local independent community banks that support their local economies
best
serve our communities and citizens. The IBC values its members as we
guarantee
one bank one vote to ensure equal representation and an equal voice in
our association. The IBC has been successful in supporting Colorado's
thriving
independent community banking industry. We have led, and will continue
to lead, issues affecting independent community banks at both the state
and federal level. We are a member of the Independent Community Bankers
Association.
ORGANIZATIONAL
STRUCTURE
The
IBC Board of Directors is comprised of 17 members, including the
Chairman,
President, President-Elect and two advisory members.
The
IBC President
presides at all meetings of the Board of Directors and serves as the
Chairman of the IBC Education Foundation Board of Directors.
The
Chairman of the Board is the organization's immediate past President.
The
Chairman is an ex-officio member of all committees of the IBC.
The remaining
board
is composed of 12 members of three representatives from each of the
organization's
four Districts. Each Director is elected by the members in their
District
and serves a three-year term. The person serving as the State Director
in Colorado for the Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA) has
a seat on IBC's Board of Directors. To promote broad geographic
representation
on the IBC Board of Directors, bank members are divided into four
geographical
