History

The IBC was organized in the autumn of 1973 as a not-for-profit corporation. Our vision remains to preserve independent community banking. We believe local independent community banks that support their local economies best serve our communities and citizens. The IBC values its members as we guarantee one bank one vote to ensure equal representation and an equal voice in our association. The IBC has been successful in supporting Colorado’s thriving independent community banking industry. We have led, and will continue to lead, issues affecting independent community banks at both the state and federal level. We are a member of the Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA).
