2004 Spring Golf Tour

LIKE PEAS AND CARROTS – GOLF AND SCHOLARSHIPS GO TOGETHER

Bankers, bank customers, IBC associate members and state representatives Diane Hoppe and Ted Harvey put down their pens and pencils, picked up their golf clubs and spent an absolutely beautiful day golfing at the IBC’s 9th Annual Spring Golf Tournament and Student Scholarship Fundraiser. The above par Golf Club at Bear Dance hosted our event. Ninety-nine golfers participated in a slice of the action. IBC members are hooked on this annual event and look forward to it each year.

Our drive fore dollars was a success once again. The IBC and its members will award $4,000 in scholarship money to deserving Colorado high school seniors. Recipients of the scholarships will be recognized during the IBC’s Annual Convention on Friday, August 27 in Breckenridge, Colorado. Requirements for the scholarship are: GPA of 3.0 or higher; the student or their parents bank at an IBC member bank; students complete an essay question; and attend a Colorado college, university or junior college. Almost 50 applications were received this year! Congratulations to our scholarship winners:

Bryan Muth, The First National Bank of Las Animas, La Junta branch, $1,000 scholarship
Rachel Castleman, FirstBank of Douglas County, $500 scholarship
Eric Martin, Colorado Community Bank of Milliken, a branch of First National Bank of Yuma, $500 scholarship
