Our enhanced activities in the political process, as well as our unique focus on community banking, has made ICBC a formidable lobbying presence at the Capitol. In addition, ICBC's relationships with various agencies and regulatory authorities ensures your opinions, comments, and concerns are heard. ICBC, its board of directors, and its lobbying team review each bill and works to either pass, amend, or kill bills based on their impact to Colorado's community banks. State Legislative Overview
Colorado's General Assembly is comprised of 100 members - 35 Senators and 65 Representatives. Senators serve four-year terms, while Representatives serve 2-year terms. All members are limited to serving for eight consecutive years in their chamber. Each year, the Colorado General Assembly convenes for a 120 day legislative session beginning in January. During a typcial session 600-800 bills, or proposed legislation, is introduced. Several hundred of these bills are enacted into law.
